Hey great article. Another great app that's totally free is Keeping Tabs. It allows guitar players to track their progress, setup and track goals/progress over time as well as use onscreen tools to run through practice sessions. I would love to hear your review of it if you get a chance to check it out!

I agree with Atom. VitalTuner should be on the list. It is the only tuner I found that can tune a low B on a bass. The user interface is super too!

I love "Guitar Toolkit" as a tuner for my I-phone. Incredibly accurate, more so than my store bought tuners. Scales, chords, everything, and tuning of multiple different instruments.

I have tried some of these, but the tuning app I truly love is "Da Tuner" which comes both free and pro. Very high accuracy, [blocked]eous display. I use it for guitar and piano tuning with great results.

All of these tuners are great in a place where it is quiet,, but can an app be developed that works on vibrations as well?? Don't most smart phone have a sensor of some kind that could pick up the vibrations from an instrument just by touching it? This maybe something to consider.. Thanks.. Oh,, I do have the pitchlab app.Best free app out there..
