Gibson Firebird Tribute 2019

That said, they do differ in some key areas that can have some obvious and less-obvious impact.

First, the Firebird Tribute features a set-neck as compared to the neck-through-body construction on the Firebird. This results in different cosmetics, weight-distribution and a slightly different sustain quality. Next, looking at the neck we find a difference in neck wood (Mahogany vs. 9-ply Mahogany/Walnut). While they feature the same slim taper profile and nut, there is no binding and the inlays are acrylic dots (as compared to acrylic trapezoids).
