This week’s featured Private Reserve Guitars selection represents the highest levels of luthiery and is crafted with some the most lavish woods available. A part of Taylor’s top-of-the-line Presentation Series, the PS10E spares nothing where appointments are concerned. From the meticulously crafted “Nouveau” paua abalone inlay on the fingerboard to the breathtakingly figured cocobolo back and sides, this is an instrument intended for the most discriminating collector. African ebony binding and extensive paua shell appointments speak to its no-compromise cosmetics.
A couple of Private Reserve Guitar advisors provided their impressions after examining and playing the PS10e:
It's a powerful-sounding guitar. If you dig into it, you can feel the back vibrate against you. It has some of the strongest bass response I’ve experienced in a Taylor. The treble response is crisp and clear. On top of the great sound, it is one of the most beautiful pieces of cocobolo you will ever see.
This is one of the most gorgeous pieces of cocobolo I've seen on the back of a guitar. It has nice, even striations on the back and unique knots on the sides. The extra strong bass response also really fills the sound out and gives it a more “full spectrum” feel than most Taylors. It sounds great by itself and would really sit nicely in a mix or band setting as well.
The PS10e’s playability and bold yet balanced dreadnought voice are easily the equal of its luxurious looks. Playing comfort is a paramount concern and the beveled armrest encourages hours of fatigue-free playing. Taylor equips the PS10e with its acclaimed Expression System electronics to ensure that every nuance of its superbly balanced tone is captured when you plug it in.
You’ll find all the details about this exceptional acoustic electric guitar here. We also invite you to call one of our Guitar Advisors at 866-926-1923 for an in-hand tone report, additional photos, or to schedule a Skype session to personally audition the PS10e.
