The Gibson SG Standard is a solid mahogany electric guitar that’s famously easy to play. It’s lighter and thinner than the Les Paul Standard, making easy to sling around and hold for long shows and recording sessions without causing a backache. The twin cutaways are more than just a design element, too – they offer way better access to the fretboard for some intense shredding action.

Most rock guitarists love the SG Standard for its extra snap and jangle, and its light weight makes this axe resonant and very responsive to your amplifier. The 2014 edition comes with the super-convenient Min-Etune automated robot tuners, 57 classic pickups with coil splitting, and a rosewood fingerboard with undercut frets for more playing surface.
