By no means do we claim to be survivalists, safety experts, or MacGuyvers (in most cases); but from what we've read on Muskogee Phoenix, a gig bag was the difference between life and death for Checotah man, Zackery Aders, on December 10th, 2013. While traversing an icy pond, Aders fell through the less-than-frozen state, climbed out, disrobed, and climbed inside the dry lining of his gig bag where he was later found by rescuers checking in on their cattle.
Muskogee Sheriff, Charles Pearson, reports Zackery Aders, 31, was traveling from Gore to Checotah on foot and got lost. He was found alive in his gig bag, wet clothes piled nearby, at around 3pm and taken to EASTAR health system. Upon discovery, “He was so cold he couldn’t even talk,” mentions Pearson.
I don't know about you guys, but first question I'll be asking when buying a new gig bag is, "Will it fit a body?"
